Bristol’s Stokes Croft traders launch new visitor website and leaflet.

Traders and businesses in Bristol’s popular Stokes Croft have launched a new website and leaflet to help boost the experience of visitors exploring the area - best known for its street art, independent retail and bohemian lifestyle

The new website www.visitstokescroft.com (Twitter @VisitSCroft) and leaflet showcase the full spread of Stokes Croft’s businesses, and invite visitors to discover the better and the less-known places and businesses in the area – and enjoy the independence, diversity and creativity.

Eva Stuetzenberger, Retail Sector Development Manager for Destination Bristol, who chairs the Stokes Croft Traders’ & Business Forum, says: “Stokes Croft is not just another shopping area; it is a community of residents and businesses as diverse as the area’s famous street scene itself.

“From unusual independent shops, to great pubs, real clubs, fabulous food, a wealth of artist studios, ever changing exhibitions and cultural activities, but also many projects and businesses aimed at the local community and its multitude of alternative lifestyles.

“The leaflet and website were developed in real Stokes Croft spirit, by the people for the people not remunerated through money, but a sense of community belonging.”

The team behind “It’s All 2 Much Gallery” together with Miriam Delogu from Bearpit Social created the leaflet, with logo and map.

Mark Hoddinott from “It’s All 2 Much” comments: “This was challenging brief. We had to encapsulate the rich heritage, creativity and culture of Stokes Croft on 2 sides of A4 paper, and we had to do so without naming or highlighting any individual business or retail outlet. We were delighted to be able to contribute with Jim Starr's brilliant collage of Stokes Croft buildings and Keith's map work, and Miriam Delogu did a fantastic job putting the whole leaflet together. It was a real pleasure working with the team."

Miriam adds: “It was a great experience and absolute pleasure working with the Stokes Croft flyer team. There was a real sense of let’s create something amazing and put all our skills to use. Delighted to have been a part of it.”

Stokes Croft based digital agency, Built By Bobcat, developed the new website. Robert Thumpston, Managing Director, explains:
"We set out to build a site that reflects the spirit of our area. A resource for residents and visitors alike. It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with so many local voices, and I was inspired by their generosity and enthusiasm. We are all very excited to see the site go live."
